(I think I missed what Samhain means but hoorah for it anyway) Definition: Samhain is one of the 8 pagan Sabbats and falls on October 31st. Samhain marks the third and final harvest of the year, and is a time to remember the dead. You might decorate your altar with pumpkins, autumn leaves or small gourds. Celebrate with divination, carve a jack-o-lantern or place an offering of food and drink in the window for passing spirits! Pronunciation: SOW-en or sow-EEN (it's not pronounced SAM-hane) Also Known As: All Hallows, Hallowe'en Blessed be to all on this day | |

Happy Samhain to my favorite witch
popcorn balls 10-12 cups popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl with the unpopped and half popped kernels separated out (you don't want anyone breaking a tooth on your halloween treat) in a medium saucepan melt 1/3 cup margarine add 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup white corn syrup dash of salt splash of vanilla 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar mix well bring to a boil (a couple of minutes) test for readiness by dipping the spoon in the syrup (when it starts falling off the spoon heavier it's ready) remove from heat add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, mix well mixture will double in size and get frothy pour over popcorn and gently form into balls with greased hands variations
