Damn You Halloween!

I never got any of the good candy and if I did, my parents ate it all...fat asses! Do your OWN trick or Treating!

I got shaving creamed yearly as a kid. Thanks for ruining my perfect devil costume.

I never get invited to your stinky parties!

I can never find that perfect item for my costume and if I do, it costs like 50 bucks and I have to wait in long ass lines just to get it.

Don't even bother asking about all those people in thier homes who wouldn't open the door to trick or treaters. It's not like I have time to waste on your punk ass yo!

I found out about the "wagon bar" that parents drag around to keep their booze in (and to give to other parents apparently!) while thier kids go trick or treating. I feel so safe now...well I have a past sense of feeling less safe, how's that?!

Ok where did the "trick" part come from? That made no sense to me. Not wanting to feel fake as I wasn't into no trickery. I just went around and said "give me some damn candy!" I think worked fine though some didn't think I was "cute" after that!

Now as an adult, I can go to a bar filled with other people who have no where to go to either, yet got a costume...just in case. (I go as the sad clown in these situations) or pay 30 bucks to get into a party or club. Plus you gotta fork over something for drinks. But still you weren't invited to something so you're actually paying 30 to be with a bunch of people who otherwise would have nothing to do either. I'd rather go to a bar as a sad clown.

Who else isn't feeling Halloweeen? And have scary tales of woe?

Leave your porch light on just for me? Fool the lil spidermans and doras! Oooh make sure you leave the radio on and a light inside!

I never was allowed to go trick or trating. My parents were firm believers in the candy/razorblade stories. They would let me go to 3 houses only, our immediate neighbors and that was it.

I'm going to hell for saying this but I only had one greta halloween as a kid. And it was cos my sister had a seizure and spent the nite in the hospital. So I spent the night with another family who DID let me go trick or treating. Course my mom wouldn't let me bring the candy home but it was something.

hmmm it's very weird to think that with ALL the freedom I was given as a teen my mom wasn't cool with halloween. weird.

I go out and get one of those big bags of candy, bring it home and eat it all myself. The kids can get their candy somewhere else. But tommorrow i won't be able to snub them because i am going to a Halloween party.

I grew up on a farm, so needless to say no one was coming out to our house for candy and my brother and I couldn't really walk to the neighboring houses either. neutral We usually ending up going to my grandparents, who lived in town, and handing out candy to the townies. pout

But I heart Halloween in New York...the West Village Halloween Parade is all kinds of fun! woot! Although I usually walk in the parade, this year I am only watching from someone's apartment... My friends are all going to a Den of Ill Repute party after the parade, but tickets sold out before I got mine, so I'm going home after the parade... sigh
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
