What's your favorite type of excercise and music to go with it? My three favorite types of excercise are (in this order)
1. Boxing 2. Running 3. Weight Lifting 4. Rock Climbing When I'm hitting a speed bag or doing roadwork I listen to a lot of Prodigy and Crystal Method. When I'm running I listen to old school hip hop (rob base and d.j. easy rock, redhead kingpin, and of course rocky!) When i weight lift I listen to Prodigy and Rage against the machine. And when I do indoor rock climbing I take my nano and listen to chill back stuff cause it helps me not to look down! (I'm not fond of heights, but love challenges) What about you? I've never been able to co-ordinate music with exercise
usually what accompanies walking fast is whining and complaining sex, silence and music I can manage for cooking and driving

If I listen to my ipod while walking I walk loads faster than normal
I used to walk up to uni, a 20minute walk, then all of a sudden I was at the top of the hill all out of breath, having done it in less than 10! Apart from walking though, I don't get a whole lotta exercise! If I did though, I'd listen to fast music

Could I be more predictable?
My exercise consists of Running & Weight Lifting because I hate team sports. As for the music, anything incredibly angry, heavy and motivating works. I've exercised to Psytrance, Techno; stuff like the Prodigy, Infected Mushroom, GMS, etc. But I always come back to hard, hard or energetic rock - stuff like White Rose Movement, RATM, A Perfect Circle. And always NIN - always. The heaviest nin I can find; the obscure Downward Spiral offcuts work best. Trent's love of dissonance is what makes it so good to exercise - the sudden switches from near silence to something really loud is empowering and very motivating.

Ex-Moderator | For walking, cardio and weight lifting I prefer housey dance music. Anything with a heavy beat. It makes me dance while I'm exercising anyway.
For yoga I prefer silence. |

For yoga I prefer silence. When I tried Thai Chi I listened to babies crying. It works well.

I love the hell out of some Tae Bo - it's body altering if you have a Billy Blanks trained clone trainer like I do.
Dancing - will always love any form of it. Weight Lifting - I love feeling strong. Forgot music - add hip hop to the mix and I'm in heaven. [Edited 10/27/06 17:30pm]

my FAVORITE exercise? ugh, i don't have one. i hate it all. but sometimes when i'm in the right mood and the right music comes through my headphones, it can become extremely tolerable. i like techno-y dancey stuff when i'm doing the elliptical cardio machine, but otherwise i like angry punk-y stuff when i'm using exercise machines and free weights. the distillers are PERFECT for the gym...they've gotten me through many an uninspired visit.

[Edited 10/26/06 23:16pm] I love the Prodigy and Crystal Method....not just while excercising, but I can listen to them almost anytime. I do Tae Bo sometimes, and I'll mute the sound from the t.v and just play my music....mainly something fast paced like Miami Bass or Electronic/Rave music. If I'm walking at a track then I'll just put my iPod on shuffle.....which is a mix of genres. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

1. Running
Music: I have a special iPod playlist called "_Run_Mix_" and it includes a lot of dance, electronic and pop music. Also, I love running to Jay-Jay Johanson's Rush albm and Les Rythmes Digitales' "Darkdancer." I've worn the track "Sometimes" out... but still love it. Nelly F's latest is a good running album, too.

Sex...Boxing...Running or any type of cardio that will get my heart rate up and makes me sweat... the music depends on my mood and the excercise.

Besides weight training, I love to run. I love to listen to old school hip hop, new wave, and freestyle when I exercise. DMX's "Ruff Ryders Anthem" is always in there.
