In Holland a 28 y/o man with a dead pan sense of humour got beat up by two angry parents.

And why? Cuz he wasn't having any kids come trick or treatin'. As the line trick or treat does not exist in Holland, the children say "Candy or your life!" a version of Robin Hood's "Your money or your life".

I think the man did not have any candy, so he opted for shouting 'Let's have YOUR life!'and chasing them a little.

The police had to step in to calm the angry parents.

Some parents were SO angry they went back to his place later to beat him up.

That's Dutch for ya. No humour.

Ah well. I say it's about time Halloween was cancelled outside the US anyway. It's never been a big family occasion anywhere else and it's just an excuse for kids to go out begging and harrassing people. Hardly anyone answers their doors on 31st October anymore because who can honestly be arsed to buy loads of sweets on the off chance that you get 1 or 2 people knocking on your door?

I purposely either go out or turn all the lights off at the front of the house. The last few years it's been intimidating teenagers in hoodies at the door anyway. I wasn't allowed to go trick or treating when I was a kid.
