Ever worked graveyard shifts?

Or anything equally funky? I know Anx has.

I'm cautious to take this job because it starts at midnight. It pays more than I've ever earned, but I'm afraid of the consequences. It'll allow me to finish school much quicker, but I'll have even less of a social life. I'll be asleep during midday. and take classes in the morning and at night.

It fucking sucks.
It messes with your body. You never fully get used to it.
Its unnatural.

I had a job where I switched from dayshifts to nightshifts every week and that was tough.

But actually, I adjusted to it when I had a whole month of nightshifts. My sister is a nurse and works nights too.

Just have to block the light out of the room you sleep in, because the body naturally responds to light.

I used to work third shift when I worked at the truck stop in Illinois (sometimes it was even scheduled rolleyes ). If you do take the job, just remember...caffeine is your friend smile

Oh, and so are window blinds and curtains during the day...sleeping when the sun is up takes a bit of getting used to.

Not at work, just while studying confused I get quite nocturnal as the semester goes on.... You get used to it, theres something nice about being up in the middle of the night when noone else is, at least I think so.

Weigh up the positives and negatives - you probably already know what you really want to do. Trust your instinct nod

unfortunately, in my line of work, there is no such thing as a set schedule...we often pull around the clock shifts (depending on the job) which require a 12 hour day and 12 hour night shift...so to answer the question..yeah..alot of graveyard shifts...and many more to come I'm sure...

Get set for some real trade-offs, Insatiable.

I worked 4-midnight, 5-1 a.m. for most of my career. You get to know the nighttime supermarket folks, all-night restaurant servers and similarly afflicted folks. But you miss out on life.

But, the upside is the pay. Gosh, I remember the pay... lol

I still prefer sunlight and socializing. Life is better as a daywalker. But, if you must be a nightsider, have a plan for making it temporary.

Sounds as if you do.
