seeing as how you're one of the smart people..do you believe in parallel universes...that is to say, you're driving and you come to a fork in the road, and you choose to go right..at the same time there's a parallel universe, in which you turn left..?

a) i'm certainly not one of the smart people

b) i don't know about parallel universes. i believe in a universal consciousness, however, and in the fact that there's only a "now". so in other words, if my itty bitty little piece of the overall consciousness turns right at the fork, and your itty bitty little piece of the overall consciousness goes left, and i see a tree and you see a deer, then there is a moment in time - the now - where a small piece of the overarching consciousness is aware of those things.

the delusion comes in when we expect some sort of permanence - everything is subject to decay at one time or another, so the question is, if the tree and the deer were there in our two little pieces of the overall consciousness, and they're not later on (which is still the now), did they actually ever exist, or are they part of the delusion and our attachment?

morever, do things exist outside the scope of your vision...
you know europe is there, but is it physically, if you're not looking at it, and thinking about it?

watched the Matrix lately, huh? lol

again, i would have to trust in the universal consciousness. if my brother tells me that Germany is still there, he's seeing it with his own two eyes, i guess it's still there. lol

consciousness gets interesting when you try to wrap your mind around something existing that is not met with some sort of consciousness - say a remote island with no humans or animals present. that raises the question of whether things have an inherent consciousness. interesting stuff, and i don't claim to understand even half of it...

Those things are not deal breakers for me so I would keep him. I would explain that I am not a very touchy feely person in hopes that he would understand that me not being into that is not a reflection on him...but at the same time, I would certainly not deny him of some physical affection. I'm not against cuddling/hugs, I'm just not big on it.
