The new movie by Alejandro González Iñárritu ('Amores Perros' a.o.), starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.

I saw this movie tonight and was pretty much taken by it. The three storylines (an american tourist (Blanchett) gets accindentally shot by kids in Morocco and her husband (Pitt) trying to save her; the mute girl in Tokyo and her struggles; the mexican babysitter in San Diego who takes the kids she sits to a wedding Mexico and is then accused of kidnapping the kids on the way back, and how these stories are connected..... The title 'Babel' stands for the failure to communicate for different reasons, being cultural difference (Morocco), physical restrictions(Tokyo) or just plain ignorance/discrimination (USA/Mexico). Not a cheerful movies but it makes you think. Very strong performances, especially from Pitt, the Japanese girl and several mexican actors..... I doubt it will be a big hit since three quarters of the movie are spoken in languages other than english (it being moroccan, japanese and spanish), but this movie is well worth checking out if you're interested in human drama! (also, Pitt's best performance to date! )

Go see it!

i really enjoyed Amores Perros, so i'm gonna have to check this.
