"Grey's Anatomy" co-star comes out From People Magazine:
Grey's Anatomy's T.R. Knight is gay, he has confirmed exclusively to PEOPLE. "I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there," Knight tells PEOPLE in a statement. "While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me." Knight, 33, plays the unassuming Dr. George O'Malley on the hit ABC drama. A Minneapolis native, he began his career in that city's famed Guthrie Theater. First Lance Bass and now T.R. Knight. People magazine is kicking butt this year when it comes to celebrities revealing their sexual preferences. I admire Mr. Knight's brave move so early in his career...it's rare. He might have been trying to head off one of the tabloids or, hell, maybe the guy just wanted to live his life open and honestly. Either way, I hope it has no negative impact on his career even though if the show itself got cancelled tomorrow I wouldn't be devastated. Then I could watch CSI on the proper night instead of having to wait until the next day on DVR because my wife is a Grey's junkie. All good things they say never last...

There is something about Callie. I am female T-totally straight and I find her sexy I think its that black curly hair and those thin arched eyebrows. Who is she and what else is she in? Don't take life too seriously, noone gets out alive.

Dunno... she's way cute, I love the fact that she's not super tiny & they don't do the "cute to be thick" thing w/ her. She's just a sexy girl, period

I wish T.R. Knight well. This gets more interesting...
If I'm not mistaken, the People story (or a related story) goes on to say that Knight's timing here may have to do with a recent altercation on the Grey's Anatomy set. Apparently, Patrick Dempsey and Isaiah Washington got into a near fist-fight after Washington made a comment to the effect that "he (Washington) is not anyone's fag." The details are sketchy, but it seems he may have made the statement in response to someone's else's aggression toward him amid set tensions over an unnamed actor's habitual tardiness. Washington's statement, though, didn't seem necessarily directed at Knight from what I can gather. Anyway, the story goes that Dempsey considered Washington's comment insensitive, given that (Knight) was known by some to be homosexual - and he challenged Washington to a fight. Knight, amid all this riff raff, decided this was the straw that broke the camel's back and decided to end all the speculation. I'm not sure how true this all is, but another rumor is that Washington's job may be in jeopardy over all this. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

You know, I respect both dudes, but I respect T.R. Knight a tat more, because he is not, as you point out in such a KRS way, a wannabe leftover from last century, sorry, Lance. Knight is actually in one of the highest profile series on tele and I love him for being so brave. Here in Holland, we roll our eyes when someone comes out, because it isn't really news. We go 'so what?' But in the very homo-phobic United States of A., the so-called land of the free, gay people still are discriminated against by even LAW... to many in the USofA (and I am not talking about all of y'all) being gay is regarded as degraded, often people think all gay people are peadophiles etc. So it is nice to see someone who plays such a liked character on television brave enough to stand up and say words that I think ring so unbelievably true; "While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me." Got to love this man. Hurray for my repressed brothers and sisters in the US!

If this is true, I definitely think this could be a lesson to those who throw the word "fag" around so recklessly. But I'm not so sure Isaiah's comment was meant to be pointedly homophobic. Everyone uses that word in a perjorative way... and it wasn't directed toward anyone. It'd be difficult, also, to think that Washington would be a homophobe. I know roles don't necessarily define actors, but he, himself, played a very politically conscious gay man in Get on the Bus. And it was a really powerful role. It'd be sad to think he could come from this performance having learned nothing about gay people and their plight. Either way, though... yeah, it sucks if Knight felt pressed to do this beyond his own pace. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I've always thought that T.R. Knight was cute. BUT now Patrick Dempsey is even hotter. M MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop! It's hilarious that women find Dempsey hot now. He's the same person nobody cared about for years and years. He is just on a popular show now.
I undertand the popularity of the show. It's not realistic at all. There are no hot women on the show. And the acting is so-so.

He grew into his nose! He's always been a popular guy with the ladies even if he wasn't the most handsome man. He and Sean Connery definately improved with age in my opinion. I AM BEATLOAF
