I might be meeting a celebrity in November One of the roles I have in my job at the university is recruiting high school students to the [program. In November, I will be seeing the daughter of a very famous celebrity. To protect the identity of the celebrity and the family I won't give any more details but there is a strong possibility that the celebrity, loving parent that they are, might be tagging along. To a Hollywood junkie like myself, this is absolutely awesome but on the other hand, I'm worried I will come off as a starstruck babbling chimp. What's the best way to handle this situation? All good things they say never last...

Think about it , underneath the celebrity is just a regular person . They might appreciate being approached that way

So let's just say I had a shrine built to this celebrity. Should I not discuss that? I'm kidding of course, but it will be weird to do my usual dog and pony show to someone who has been to the Emmy's and/or Oscars. All good things they say never last...

Sure I appreciate that some so called celebrities need their egos massaged a little but just treat em like a regular Joe , thats what I would do anyway

I could have them wait a really long time for me but the image of them sitting out there scoping through a 6 month old People magazine is too surreal for me to contemplate. All good things they say never last...

Speaking of celebrities, Nic Cage is selling his $35 million house which used to be owned by Dean Martin.
On a related note, I found a quarter on the sidewalk a few hours ago... All good things they say never last...

i know an academy award nominated actress. she was in some of the biggest movies of the 80's.
I treat her like everyone else, joke with her...and I think she appreciates being treated like an everday person. Of course she's far removed from the hollywood scene, despite being in a few motion pictures the past few years. point being, treat him/her like everyone else..a big fat cash cow. (sorry Cow) btw, keith olbermann is a jackass. [Edited 10/24/06 14:29pm]

He owned a record shop and would give me all these anecdotes about the two. So I know people who know people. All good things they say never last...

More on this...I was slated to see the celeb offspring this month but it has been put off...because the celeb wanted to come with his/her child. I think it is really cool that the star in question would put aside their busy schedule to tag along with his/her child on college cisits. So it looks like early next year now but it is going to happen. All good things they say never last...

You will do well, young grasshopper!
In radio, we had LOTS of artists and so forth that came through. If you geeked out or got groupie-fied that meant you were a rookie and people TALKED ABOUT YOU through the dirt! I just act like myself...just put more charm on, that's all! It is pretty cool that I know some folk now, and had their posters plastered all over my walls in high school. But enough about me... Really, it's no big. I say it may be a good network, maybe that person will link you up to an assistant, publicist, something. Think of it that way.
