Why Oh Why Do People Slam Apartment Doors??

It seems that some people don't know how to close a door softly so that it doesn't disturb others around them, they have to slam it full force. WTF is up with that????
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

lol I'm willing to bet that a slamming door will make a ghost leave right quick, if it's anywhere close by.

That's okay, as long as you don't slam a door in this building. smile

Try feeding it cottage cheese,
see how fast it disappears.

As I posted in another thread,
I learned this the hard way.

We get that in our apartment too, it's really annoying. Though it's sometimes easy to do by accident. I've noticed if the windows are open in the apartment, the door closes alot easier than when they were closed, so if you're pulling on the door harder than you need to you can slam it by accident. We also have this goofy vent at the top of the stairway that sucks air out and creates a vaccum that litrally will pull the door out your hand when you're trying to close it.

True, an air current can make the door slam harder than usual. But, the woman downstairs from me does it all the time, and I know it's not by accident.

What I did with my kids when they'd get mad and slam the door to their room...threaten to remove it and proceed to do so if they continued. It's easy to do. Take the bolts out of the hinge.

Although, in this situation, say nothing and simply remove the door when they aren't home and no one's looking.

There's a problem with our door so until they come and fix it, we have to slam it or it won't close.

I have more issue with ppl who stomp when they walk across the floor.

that bugs me.

how about slipping an anonymous note under the door, asking them to be more careful in closing their door?

I used to have a roommate in college that would always let the door slam shut when he left for class and I was still in bed. Things turned around the next semester when I had the earlier class at 7AM and he was still in bed. evillol
