without a doubt, la colombe. unless you're from philadelphia, you'll have to order it from their website. its worth the wait of shipping, though. i haven't lived in philly for about 4 years but i've had it shipped to me the whole time. its not for a lack of trying other brands or roasters, because i have. and there's plenty of great roasters out there but none have surpasses la colombe.

Quite bizarrely, the best coffee I ever had was at a petrol station here in Thailand. It's hard to find good coffee anywhere in Thailand, especially outside of Bangkok, but once on the way down to the beach on a coach we stopped at one of the grimy petrol station and rest areas and along with the usual thai food court and dried fruit snacks there was this little mobile stall set up selling, supposedly, fresh ground coffee from different countries all around the world. I can't even remember which one I chose but it was delicious!

I was at a golf & country club for some luncheon, and I must have drank about five cups of coffee there. It was delicious! I don't know if it was the coffee or the creamer they were using. I didn't ask what it was, and have tried all sorts of coffees and creamers since and cannot replicate it. I'm currently drinking Gevalia coffee...I bought Mocca Java (not mocha) and Le Precope (French). It's all right, but not like that country club coffee.
