Did Your Bank Ever Make an Error on One of Your Accounts?

That just happened to me. I was going crazy, trying to figure out why the balance that was showing online was not the same as what I had in my checkbook. After I printed off the online statement and compared it to my checkbook, I discovered that the bank had made an error. Instead of crediting $14.50 to my account, they accidentally had credited $145.00. Thank God I still had enough money in my account, or they would have tried to charge me an overdraft fee for insufficient funds as well. I just called the bank and brought the error to their attention. I was told that it would be corrected within 24-28 hours.

Rule of the day: Always, always double check your bank statements to your accounts. It is easy for an error to be made. This is the first time that something like this has ever happened to me. I'm hoping it won't happen again.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Once my bank had a huuuuuge hiccup, and all withdrawals in atm machines were charged twice. That was really not fun, and it happened on a Friday afternoon so they couldn't fix it until the next bank day, Monday. The weekend was bad for a lot of people.

Yeah, a credit union I used to belong to accidentally deposited my paycheck into someone else's account. The teller mistyped my account number, and was obviously not paying much attention.

I hope they were able to fix it. I would be very angry if that happened to me.

one time I went to the grocery and I charged on my atm. I kept putting the code in over and over and over. and was like wtf? I know this is the code.
Well come to find out I was putting in my code for my ADT. and they shut my card off for the whole weekend until I was able to come in the bank in person and turn it back on mad

omfg sad That's the problem with today's world, we have so many codes and passwords to remember. Between our ATM and credit cards and the computer, it makes it easy to get them mixed up.

There must be an error because I always seem to have several thousand dollars less than I should.
