Nope.
I used monster in college.
Out of all the jobs I responded to,I was called for one interview.

Now that I think about it,I've never gotten a job from those internet sites. It was either from the local college listings or just going to apply on my own.

I have wave

But it was a separate part of Monster just for my college, so that probably doesn't count.

They're good for scam-searching, fake companies. Not much else, as far as I can tell.

Nothing beats the old standby of word-of-mouth referrals and 1-on-1 meetings.

Often got similar messages, based on my own Monster searches, earlier this year:

"Dear Mr. Smith,

We've spotted your resume on Monster.com and believe you have just the qualifications for our marketing positions. Orientation meetings are held every Tuesday afternoon. Please, contact Margarita Jenkins to schedule an interview.

Very Sincerely yours,

Hector Hohenwalde
Acme Services Inc."

Same thing with careerbuilder. I had to block ALL messages from my email address because I received several emails like that.

Let me tell you....FUCK Monster! The only interviews I get from that site are some bullshit hustling life insurance jobs. Career builder is the same. Fuck 'em. It's truly about who you know. If you want jobs where they sell them to you and you find out it was a trick, keep up with monster and the rest of them

Same here! Someone on here told me to try CareerBuilders.com, but they were lousy too. It was always some legal job with the same employment agencies. rolleyes

I think you have better luck applying in person, or perhaps apply in person with a job agency that you trust. Although some job agencies are not all that either. confused
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
