The Last King Of Scotland - Forest Whitaker is amazing It was the first film to open the London Film Festival last night. We had tickets but I didn't realise that it was going to be a full on premiere with red carpet and celebrities. I felt so stupid wondering in in my scruffy jeans 
Basically the entire cast and director/producers were all there, and Anthony Minghella gave a speech for some reason - it was a cool novelty at first but after them all rabbiting on for an hour I just wanted them to piss off so we could watch the film 
VERY good. They've changed a few things from the book though and it makes you feel less sympathy for the fate of the doctor because of what they changed - I won't give it away. Still, very graphic and gruesome and an amazing performance from Forest Whitaker whom I've never seen in such a brutal role before. I'm still rooting for Leonardo DiCaprio for the Oscars though cos I think he deserves it more. [Edited 10/19/06 3:19am] | |
