How to open an FLAfile?

Sounds like "FLAC" audio, or a Flash data file.

hmm What is the file supposed to be?

Yes - rename the extension to FLAC - I have had this same problem and if you are using something like Flac Frontend to convert them back to wave it should work ok.

Are you talking about a Flash file? files with the extension ".fla" are usually Flash project files. You would need Macromedia Flash (the full program, not just the browser plugin) to open them.
