It's snowing!

omfg

There are officially snowflakes coming down in downtown Mpls!

This is the earliest I remember any snow in my entire life!!

Granted, the flakes are incredibly, incredibly sparse, just sort of barely floating down. And they are melting on impact.

But there's SNOW!!

in the early 90s Denver had a giant blizzardin mid-october that shut down the city for a couple of days. they are often blizzards that don't shut down the city, but that one was so damn early that city crews weren't geared up to anything!

anyhoo... i wouldn't mind seeing some flurries in mpls, but dang i hope there ain't lots of snow when we're there.

We are supposed to get snow by tomorrow in the Michiana area.

CarrieMpls:

The last time I remember it snowing in October was the "Blizzard of 1991", and that was at the end of October around Halloween. My brother says that Minnesota has had mild winters the past few years and that "Cabin Fever is so 90's" Hahahaha. I think he may have spoke too soon!

Around these parts, we talk about the great halloween blizzard of 91. I was at a friend's house for halloween and we were going to go to a haunted house and about halfway there we turned around and headed back home. I was stuck at her house for a couple of days after that. My parents finally braved the roads to come get me. There was honestly at least 2 feet of snow still on the roads. Up to and over the bottom of car doors. EVERYTHING shut down. And that's incredibly rare for Minnesota.

I don't ever remember getting any snow before or on halloween other than that year.

you put this out there

I'm imagining this little shivering, horrified huddle of West Coast-ers on a MPLS street corner, as 5 snowflakes float down from the sky.

eek now look what's happening
