My Smoke Detector Just Beeped I know I need to change my batteries when that happens, but it just scared the crap out of me. I'm sitting here at my computer, and all of a sudden I hear this loud, "BEEP!" RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Ours chirped for months and eventually we got used to it and visitors would always be asking what's that sound and we never knew what they were talkin about 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

Yeah, that happened in my fiance's last house. I was only there about 3 days a week at the time, but I got used to it. Then the second one started chirping, so we had a chirp from the living room area, and a chirp from the utility room. We never changed it, then we moved. This one's for you.

but supa, yours sounds defective! do you trust it to go off when there really is a fire?
on a sort of unrelated note, my dad bought me a stopwatch (I really don't know why) and the alarm on it was set to 4:40pm for some reason, and everyday it would go off, somewhere deep in the kitchen cupboard. For a few years until the batteries ran out

LOL My goodness. That would drive me nuts. When we lived in our apartment. Ours beeped liked that. It was way up there and I couldnt reach it,even standing on a chair. So I knocked it down with a broom. Our maintenance guy came in to work on the sink. He asked me to put it back. He came back a few months later and it was still down. He left a note. PLEASE put smoke detector BACK!!! I did...right before we moved "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"

I used to listen to Loveline on the radio on my way home from work when I worked evenings, and there were many times that people would call in and Corola would hear some person's smoke detector beeping in the background because no one ever changed batteries, and the caller would be totaly oblivious to it going off.
