IrresistibleB1tch said: what's your favorite kind of red wine? I was just telling my husband the same thing the other day and he looked at me like I was crazy. He had no idea that red wine is more for cooler weather and white for warmer weather. Jeez - what a guy I don't really have a favourite red. I enjoy most reds as long as they are dry. However, I am definitely a Chardonnay kind of gal when it comes to white wine.

I wouldn't mind trying something differnet, but I've yet to find another white that isn't a chardonnay that I like.

Is it just because most people find it more acceptable to chill white wine, and that's why it's better for warm weather. . .? Anyway, I'm with you on the ABC. Chardonnay has got to be my least favorite wine. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

Do you NEVER drink red in the summer? I'm still tryin' to figure this out. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

Half a glass of red wine poured over ice, dash of red vermouth and top off with cloudy lemonade, sounds odd but it's delicious, in fact I have a glass of it in my hand as we speak. ![]() Sounds a bit like sangria! I do make sangria from red in summer. |

i don't do rose. do you have a good one to recommend? Rose to me is a true summer wine... white or red are for anytime, depending on the food. I drink pays d'ocs or riojas - just not tavel, because it's the original rose and the most famous brand... so it's production is upp'd w/ sulfites. (ouchie head for me)

I prefer to plump for a full-bodied 13 - 13.5% if it's not accompanied with food. If I'm having it with something like game or venison, I'll usually choose a fairly robust 12%. For pasta dishes or cheese, I've even been known to go as low as a cheeky little 11.5%! (
