well- it is still pretty much hot here again after our cold front that lastest 3 days and dropped to a chilly 60 degrees for a low..
As far as wines- I like red wines all year long. I do not like super dry wines.
I am not too picky about the brands- I just like to try new ones.

can't help you much with sweeter red wines - you may want to start out with Ports, but they are VERY sweet. does anybody else have any suggestions?

in white wines from Germany, it's easy to find the sweeter ones - just look for a "Spaetlese" - very drinkable! nod

ok....I'll try to find a nice Port. thanks smile

You change your wine seasonally? confuse

My favorite wines are Oregon Pinot Noirs. I had some good ones from Anderson Valley in CA when I was down there recently, too.

And I like Syrah a whole lot.

And Bordeaux.

Imma go have me a glass of Pinot right now, thanks for the suggestion. cool

Yeah, when I want sweet wine I drink Port or Riesling. nod

You can also get plum and berry wines, sometimes blended with red (grape) wine, that is sweet, but not as sweet as Port. Nehalem Bay makes a plum wine that is moderately sweet. It's very nice.

Icewine is another sweet/dessert wine, though I've never seen a red for some reason. confuse

Worst wine ever is Thai rice wine - costs about 25 baht (60 cents) for a three or four hundred ml bottle and is about 25-30% alc. vol. lol

Tastes evil, oddly sweet, and you have to mix it with water. Truly evil stuff lol

When I figure out what it is, I'll tell you. lol I just kind of throw things in and hope for the best. I always get compliments, though. smile

I usually use cinnamon, cloves, all spice and sugar. Sometimes other stuff.

I do the same too, I tend to drink white or rose during the summer and then switch to red when it starts getting colder.

You must try this little cocktail though for a year round red.
Half a glass of red wine poured over ice, dash of red vermouth and top off with cloudy lemonade, sounds odd but it's delicious, in fact I have a glass of it in my hand as we speak. martini
