"With friends like you, who needs friends?"

Do you have any issues with your friends? Mine tend to be bad at keeping in touch and flake out on me all the time. neutral

You just described my family...lol

Friends...yeah, I seem to be the one who's always making the first effort
for phone calls or suggestions...it gets tiring
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

If I have issues with friends, they don't stay friends for long.

OR if they have some shortcomings, but overall, they're good people, I learn what I can and cannot expect from them and change my 'expectations' of their freindship. I have a friend is is consatnly, annoyingly late. I know this. It pisses me off, but I know what to expect, so when I want to be somewhere at 10, I tell them 9. shrug
Others, I just don't let them get that close.

Pathetically, I'm just glad I'm not alone. Sorry to hear your friends are anywhere near as non-supportive as mine. Silly I call them 'friends', but hey--I've got my own issues too, it seems.

Yep. nod

As I get older I find myself being less tolerant of flakey friends. I have had a real tendency to attract them (probably because I put up with them doh! ), but I've been trying to just let people go when they stress me out.

I have one old friend, though, who is all kinds of trouble -- chronically late, habitual liar (mostly about unimportant things), changes personalities with each boyfriend -- and I keep her around 'cause there are things that are extraordinary about her that make her worth it (thus far lol ). And, well, she loves me, which helps.

I always thought my friends were awesome. Like no complaints whatsoever, but they all seem pretty lame lately.

I remember reading an article recently that said that, in todays society of rush-rush and working long hours and internet, more people are feeling a sense
of loneliness, that is, less time for friendships and bonding. sad

My friends have been awful at trying to set me up me up with people. Other than the babe all of the women were plain janes or ugos. I gotta question their tastes sometimes.

My friends are awesome. Each one is hilarious, gross and charming in his own way. I love everything about them, good and bad. I can't wait for the holidays so I can go back home and meet up with 'em. sigh Most of them kinda suck at keeping in touch, but I know it's just b/c of the way they are so I don't worry about them being flaky.

My friends are all pretty cool. The uncool ones are no longer in my life. It takes time to cultivate a good friend base but it can be done. Eventually you'll tire of these friends and move on.

I'm more likely to be the one WITH the issue, unfortunately... I love my family very much but throughout my life friends have been the ones I turn to the most. because of that, I tend to put them up on a pedalstal and that's not healthy - and sooner or later I tend to lose them excepting a very rare number of them

I was in this stage at your age. You get over it. Calling them "friends" that is. You're lucky if you have 1 true friend in this life, I think... well maybe 2, let's not get too depressive...

Through time and experiences with people you learn the difference between acquaintances, associates and friends. I have a lot of acquaintaces and associates but I have two best friends of over 20 plus years...it took a lifetime to find them and wouldn't trade or change them for anything in the world. True friends tend to keep you honest about everything including yourself.

A lot of my friends are flakey too, they just kinda forget I exist for ages and 90% of the time this is because they have all found "true" love and are all settled, doing exciting things like going to Ikea and forgetting how to drink little old me under the table....

At first I was like eek fit
Now its more talk to the hand

I can't be bothered with that, even though I have been really really close to some of them, but I guess we all change and move on. Its difficult for me to answer the "how have you been" questions when I think inside "if you really gave a fuck, you would have asked me when I was crying all over myspace" talk to the hand
