Ex-Moderator | everyone be nice to me, please I think I've quit smoking. I haven't had a cigarette for about 21 hours. It is really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really difficult.
So if I don't seem like myself, or if I yell at you for no reason, or if I stop talking to everyone, don't take it personally. I'm trying to be healthy. Thanks, that is all. |

Good for you.
My advice is to not talk about it. The less you talk about the less you think about it. I have found that those who quit and do nothing but talk about how hard it and how much they want a smoke almost always give in to the temptation. When I quit I never even told my girlfriend for a few days.

As the son of two former smokers, I salute you, sis. When I was little, I used to soak my mother's matches to keep her from smoking. Talk about the hand of the LORD preserving my life... I had no idea then how I was putting my life in jeopardy...

It's incredibly difficult for the first few weeks, but after that it's a breeze! NB: You'll have the urge to replace the cigarettes with food, but DON'T DO IT! Once the few weeks pass, that urge'll pass too. Here's a photo of a tracheotomy for further inspiration:
