Gawd dammit! Is this why people hate getting old?

I'm turning 27 this month. So, I ask a few of my favorite people to join me at my favorite restaurant for dinner. No big thing, just dinner.

"Oohh, it's a Tuesday night. . . oohh, it's a long drive. . . oohh, I can't afford it. . ."

What part of "birthday" don't you bastards understand? mad

So, I cancelled the dinner. And I was nice about it, and I've been all outwardly understanding and "uh huh, totally, no problem, I'll probably turn 28 next year, maybe I'll catch ya then". But in reality, my feelings are fucking hurt! sad

I don't think I'm some bad person! I try to take really good care of my friends/family! I smell nice! I attend their birthday celebrations, at their yucky restaurants, far from where I live! What the hell?! pout

So, I'm coming to the org to pout and moan. Thanks for listening. lol
oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

lol we are friends with a couple, and every year, we get worse about celebrating each others' birthdays.

it's october now, and we have yet to go out to dinner for my husband's birthday (january), my friend's (June), her husband's (July) and mine (August). it's pathetic... disbelief

hug That's super crappy. Sounds like they don't deserve you, hon. rose I hope you have a wonderful birthday.

Also, I think you should e-mail or call all of them and tell them that your feelings are hurt.

awwwww...

I have to admit that i'm the friend you tell about an event but just know that if I don't feel like coming, I may not. My friends are so use to me its funny. They do invite me to everything and they have to let me know how this event ranks on the "importance meter".

I don't stay long either. My daughter will even say, "uh, can we stay longer than an hour....pleassseeee."

I'm one anti-social chick and it has nothing to do with age.

I think some get caught up chillin' when you get older. Ya just don't feel like it.
