they dropped the ball on the X3 dvd release i've only been waiting like 5 months for this come out on dvd...so i go to walmart and there's THREE versions available...the basic $13.99 version, the $19.96 version with companion disc (behind the scenes, screen tests, blah blah) and then the $23.64 version , that comes with a **GASP!** new stan lee x-men story. so basically, there's nothing worth more than $2 on the more expensive versions, so i get the cheapie one. there's like nothing added to the experience of the movie--the 3 alternate endings that they are hyping are all lame--they cut out some good scenes to keep it at pg-13. i'm still overall pretty happy with my purchase, since i loved the movie in the theater, but dang--it was only 1:40 minutes long--they could added some more bells and whistles to the dvd. (did i really need to see a lame trailer for the simpson's movie? Hell No). They could have done like the Butterfly Effect dvd--have the theatrical version on one side, and the alternate longer version on the other side.
of course, there's talk of director's edition being released at Xmas time, (like xmen 1.5), but if it doesn't have anything significant, i'll pass. | |
