EFS said: When is it acceptable to say those 3 little words "I Love You" for the first time. Has anyone ever held back and waited for there partner to say it first. Or just threw caution to the wind and say only to scare there partner off.??
Those 3 little words should be said when and if you truly mean them. Many people say I love you without giving it much thought. Some people confuse lust and caring for someone as true love, but they are not the same. Ask yourself this.....will you still love this person years down the road? Would you love this person if they got sick and needed your help? If not, don't say it and if so, say it everyday.

I would agree, but you'd want to make sure the other person is ready to hear it as well...i.e. at the time you think she loves you, too.

True, you would want to but it seems to me that one can't tell when that is...it's a gamble really. You may sense feel or believe the other person is ready and it turns out they're not which is why I said, you say it when you mean it you can only go by how strongly you feel about a person/someone to know when to say those three words. When you feel them is when you should say the words. Fear isn't a positive force.
I said the words first to my wife after what would be considered a very short time, because they were true, as true as our relationship was then and is today, back in 90/91. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

"Love is too strong a word to say it too early, but it has too beautiful a meaning to say it too late"

Well obviously it's never SAFE. You'll probably get your heart ripped out eventually. But I hear it's worth it.

It just feels so good when you tell a girl you love her and she says "Thank you!" My Legacy
