Ahhh, come on folks, don´t discriminate, don´t be prejudiced..
I drove through Poland and it ain´t that bad. Warsaw is of course beautiful, so are Gdansk and other cities...I also drove through Poznan, and it´s ...ehh...kinda okay...I didn´t get to see much.
The people are nice, and you´ll probably like the food, if you´re into pork ( I´m not)...

There´s a Polish org.member here named FABPolska or something like that..you might wanna ask him about Poland in general...most Polish Prince fans come all the way over from Poland to witness Prince in concert here in Germany.

Warsaw would be interesting as would Auschwitz, but Poznań is highly industrial and very small.....and typical of business travel, I will be ushered in there, work like a dog, and ushered out....

I love traveling, meeting new people, experiencing cultures, but business travel is a whole different ball game.....

I'm receptive and open.....but a battery factory in Poznań? Hell to the naw..disbelief

Lawd, lawd..... sad

cool

Poznan is more beautiful than Warsawa.. I found Warsawa very ugly and not much to it.. mainly cos alot of the buildings bombed in the war havent been rebuilt, and its very grey and dismal... unlike Poznan

Driving through and being there are completely different things.. so you cant really judge a city just cos you ahve driven through..

cubic61052.. if you have any questions or queries about Poland, please dont hesitate to ask me.. cool hug

thanks so much.....I am judging it by the stories I have heard from the people I work with who have gone there and some people I have known through the years that are from Poland.....but I guess I need to be less judgemental, not generalize and decide for myself!
thanks! hug

I have family in Poland and have been many times before, and I am sure you will LOVE Poznan, it has a great city centre, great shops, if thats what you like, beautiful architecture, squares and cathedrals.. the people are really friendly and the beer is really dirt cheap.

My advice also is to shop for crystal/glass and silver.. nod

I mush preferred Poznan to Warsaw.. so I think you will be fine..

Just at the end of the day, get out the factory and head for the city, find a cool bar and chill..

thanks so much, but unfortunatley international business trips usually go like this:

fly to the destination (hoping to sleep on the way there)
a driver picks you up
go to hotel room to clean up
the driver waits for you and takes you to work
work until done
go out to eat where the managers in that country take you
go back to hotel and sleep
repeat the same thing every day until you get to go home.....

but I'll try to see some 'sights' if I can.....thank you so much for your encouragement!

Hell dont I know it..

I have travelled ALOT and I agree.

usually pick up from airport and if I am lucky get driven to hotel,if unlucky then its straight to the factory or office..
back to hotel to get washed and dressed to be picked up for a meal
eat meal with business people who bore the pants off you.. but you have to look like they are so much fun

Try and escape early enough so you say goodnight, you are going to bed, jetlagged etc etc.. then hail a taxi and drive off to shops for a late night shopping spree followed by drinks

I never get to see much of the wonderful places I have visitied cos it is hotel factory, hotel factory and the cars I am driven about in usually have blacke=ned windows.. sad

I'm not discriminatory, nor am I prejudiced against anyone.....it is the industrial, cold, stark nature of the environment of where I am going that I am not thrilled about....

I fly straight from Frankfurt to Poznan, so seeing Warsaw or Gdansk are out of the question....

Thanks!
