I think there's different kinds now. Maybe the one you were using had too much nicotine?

Thanks for all your encouragment. I'm doing the nicotine gum, but I'm gonna try not to use it much after the first week or two. We'll see how it goes. I tried the patch years ago and I really didn't like it. It made me jittery and I couldn't sleep and when I did I had really, really messed up dreams. Keep in mind that if you stayed on nicotine gum for the rest of your life, it would be better for you than smoking. It's not about a moral victory over nicotine here, it's about getting rid of the cigs. And I say count away. When it doesn't serve a purpose anymore, you'll stop doing it naturally. Until then, youre GONNA obsesss. . . may as well get a sense of accomplishment from it. And it IS an accomplishment. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

How much is a Pack of Smokes in the US? Here in the UK they are about the same as a Gallon of Fuel.....£4:75 per 20.
I am surprised how Cigarettes are legal, looking at what is actually in them: Nicotine: This powerful, fast acting drug is one of the most addictive substances on the Planet..... Acetone: Used as a Solvent - eg Nail polish Remover Ammonia: Found in strong cleaning fluids Arsenic: Your wife puts it in your food Cadmium: Metal used in Batteries Formaldehyde: Used to preserve Dead Bodies Benzene: Used as a Solvent in Fuel and chemical manufacture..... Not to mention Tar / Carbon Monoxide and the other crap..... .........Gimme your Doughnut,,,,,,

Hang in there. You can do it.
I quit over 4 years ago after 24 years of smoking. I did gain some weight (which I still have), but I'm so glad I can call myself a non-smoker. I don't know what you pay for cigarettes, but just before I quit, a package of 25 was $7.49. OMFG!

I thought it would be funny.
I'm sorry. I'm going to go have a cigarette and think about what I did. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

This can be avoided by being really strict on yourself through the "detox" period (i.e. no replacing cigarettes with food).

This can be avoided by being really strict on yourself through the "detox" period (i.e. no replacing cigarettes with food). Considering I've lost 40 pounds over the last 9 months, I'm being extra, extra careful. I still want to lose 40 more, actually. I'm hoping quitting smoking will help me in this, not hinder me. This past Saturday, for the first time ever I had a hard time breathing in yoga class and I just decided that enough was enough. |

You'll be very edgy for the next few weeks. You must find something to occupy yourself when the cravings strike.

(granted i was stressed and going through a breakup and haitng my job balh ablhablahablah) but none the less i quit in the face of it alll you are doing awesome! just keep on NOT letting the habit control you. YOU control it. and you are kickin ass girl! vi
