Two people of the same height can have two different ideal weights, because one person has a larger frame than the other. If somebody with a teaching credential tells you something that can be obviously refuted just by opening your eyes and looking around in the world, you're a fool to believe the teacher.

In high school, I starved myself (seriously) for a year or so. And then, at 5'9" and 160, I was THIN. Any less and I would have been scrawny. At that point, I still couldn't fit into clothes that were otherwise my size because my hips and shoulders were too wide. It's not that fat was collecting on my shoulders! I'm a BIG GIRL, no matter what my weight. And I think it's pretty easy to look around and see that people vary in that sense.

now that this thread's somewhat rectified itself, it's safe for me to pop back up on here. i'm full-figured as well, and it's cool. most of the other women in my family are built around the same way as i am--somewhat of a cross between big-boned and thick. for me, i have kind of an odd thing happening with how i'm built: the genes of both of my parents must've been fighting for dominance and ended up in a compromise when i was conceived () because i have a lotta features that ended up mid-way between my mom's and my dad's. my dad's tall and slender (he's 6'2") and my mom was short and big-boned (she was around 5'4" or so). i'm 5'5" and pretty solidly built.

Ok, I have no idea why people are putting "big boned" and "large framed" together with being fat. They have nothing to do with each other at all. A person is fat if they have layers of fat, it has nothing to do with bone structure at all.

I'm someone with a large frame. I'm 5'8 with broad shoulders, etc. The extra weight I gained after having my son has nothing to do with my frame.

Saying one is big boned is moot when discusing body fat.

It's true that a large framed person would weigh more than a slight framed person, but again, that has nothing to do with being fat. If one is carrying extra weight, they are fat, big boned or not, doesn't matter - they're fat.

To all the guys that like big girls, I think it's great. Just like I think guys that love skinny girls are great too.

It's completely fine to have preferences when it comes to what you're attracted to, but your reactions go way beyond that. It may have been more respectful and less offensive to simply state your preference.
