Should I let him in?

I told my fiancee to be home before 2am and he just texted me asking if he could come home at 2:30am because he's playing cards! Should I let him in? It's not like I'm sleeping, but it's the principle of it.

Oh good lord. He calls himself a man???? He is asking permission???? I think i am going to puke.

And why is it any of your business when he comes home. Just go to sleep and dream about your wedding or whatever women like to dream about.

He should be able to come in whenever he wants too. Asking permission??? You are his fiancee. Not his mother. This is going on and you two are not even married yet? Good Grief, Charlie Brown.

No, he shouldn't be able to come in at any hour of the night. That is ridiculous. I'm definitely not his mom, she would've let him come in whenever he wanted.

Ok relax...

Is this a first time he doesn't live up to his promise?

I would suggest to let him in, help him into bed if needed neutral..and give him a hard time tmrw morning when he wakes up smile
ok maybe that's bot the best advice but i would giggle
Maybe not the most responsible Oprah way of handling it but it would be my choice..
Let him talk..

Oh and ignore comments on this board who will refer to the macho behaviour..?

It's both of yours and he is asking permission? If it's his place to then he should be able to come in at any time he wants. Just go to sleep and let him have fun.

But it isn't that he broke a promise... He asked her for permission to stay later. She can say no, and he'll come home before 2 am (if I'm understanding the situation correctly)

I'm not saying he has to. But for whatever reason, he already agreed to come before 2 am. shrug

Well if it's his place too then he can come home whenver he wants. He should not even have to agree with her on a time to come home. He should not even have a time limit on when he comes home.

THANK YOU! He agreed to be here before 2 and now he wants to stay longer. Being that I think 2am is too late for him to be coming in anyway, I said hell no to 2:30am, so he's coming home.

I trust him, but I can't sleep until I know he's home and he's safe. Has nothing to do with trust.

and you honestly wonder why i don't like you? lol

and Misha, I know what you mean. I have a tough time sleeping if I know my boyfriend's not home in his apartment, or is at least somewhere safe...I'm always afraid if his car broke down i wouldn't wake up if he called my cell phone. lol

It's not the same thing. You are not ordering your boyfriend home like a mother would.

to each their own. every relationship is different. i think it was considerate of him to call you. i think it was even better that he was considerate enough to think about how you felt and came home. but i don't think it would've been a big deal if he called you to let you know and you just simply went to sleep. as long as he doesnt make a habit out of it it shouldn't be a problem. A man coming in late doesn't bother me unless its all the time. besides i dont want him up in my ass when i come in late
