PROJECT RUNWAY thursday water cooler chat (with *BRAND NEW* IMPENDING DRAMA!!!!)

i don't know how i fell about all 4 in competition. it seems wrong. the rumor had been circulating, and heidi hinted at it when she was on the view last week.

LOVED IT!!
gorgeous, gorgeous work. uli totally deserved the win. i wrote her off with that first outfit, which was waaaaay muu-muu with a cool print, but she totally saved it.

HATED IT! maybe i complained too much about his assymetrical and deconstructed tuff, because if this is the alternative, i'll take assymetrical and deconstructed. it looks way too "AMERICA- YAY!" in the colors, the skirt siloutte is pathetic, and the white along the neckline and sleeves looks way more "granny" than anything angela ever did.

very pretty, although, while a lovely look, laura has really rendered herself redundant.

i liked it! it was a tad boring, btu still very very pretty. the weaving was awesome. i think had he included another color in the weaving (like black) it would have been even better.

so...

ready for some D R A M A ?

we may have another kicking off to go with Keith's earlier this season.

from the Chicago Tribune:

'Runway' drama Is "Project Runway's" bad boy a rule breaker too?

Rumors are circulating that finalist Jeffrey Sebelia cheated. But Bravo, the channel that airs "Runway," isn't talking.

The lowdown, according to New York magazine, is that fellow finalist Laura Bennett accused Sebelia of outsourcing the sewing on his final collection. She made the accusation after seeing his collection—she'd heard that Sebelia was nowhere close to done when Tim Gunn checked in on him a few weeks before.

The show did a thorough investigation of the charges, Gunn said. Sounds like there might be something behind them: the straight-talking design mentor told the magazine: "His collection was very ambitious. I wasn't born yesterday."

IF it happens, they will show him being disqualified. the tim gunn quote only says there was an investigation, and leaves it at that.

the finale is October 18. next week is the reunion episode, i don't know if they are doing anything new the week following, and then the week after that is the FINALE!

you took the words right out of my mouth with your comments on the various designs... highfive

in terms of the Jeffrey drama - it would be a shame if he ended up like that. i personally don't care much for him, but i would like for him to be able to make a go of it after the show.

i know i shouldn't but i just want to see this guy get the blunt end of the karmic stick for all the crap he has needlessly flung into other people's lives on this show.

it's petty of me, i know.

he is such an ass that he makes me take back all the dislike i had for wendy pepper in season 1. he's like santino from season 2, but without being funny or sometimes charming.

His attitude is totally like Santino's. But, I agree...he could be totally hilarious and somewhat charming...Jeffrey lacks all of those good qualities.

Jeffrey had me rolling on last nights episode when he was describing all the other designers' styles, especially when he referred to Laura's as "chicken soup and mothballs", ROTFL!! lol

Tim Gunn also made another comment saying something to the effect of " I wasn't born yesterday!" or something like that, when discussing the investigation of Jeffrey. It sounds like there's some bitterness there.

Did anyone else notice, that first guy they banned from the show (Michael?) is no longer in the opening of each show? You know, the part where they show the logo, and some short comments from each of the designers...

keith was his name, and i hadnt noticed. will go back and look tonight...

the tim comment is because apparently when tim visited before the show, he noticed nothing was sewed, then suddenly all of it was very quickly, and jeffrey is saying he did it all himself, everyone else is saying it isn't possible to sew that much in a small amount of time

OK. I must be the lone Jeffrey fan. He's creative and inspired, and he's the only designer that makes me anxious about the finished product...he presents something that takes a little absorption. I'll quickly trade his lack of Santino's humor for the fact that he is not completely incredulous when the judges don't share his views...this might come from his already being established.

I thought his presentation last night was pretty good, a little taste of Boho.

So far, my favourite moment from Season 3: Korrs imitates Uli talking; Heidi shoots him a dagger look (coming from her, not that threatening).

True. This whole "lets have 4 finalists" thing seems to make more sense now if they are going to wind up eliminating one of them during fashion week for violating the rules. Maybe there was more going on with Jeffrey that they haven't shown or mentioned yet, and perhaps they saw this coming?

dunno.

i knwo when the keith thing happened, kanye made the accusation to the other designers, and one of the camera guys totally went and shot footage of the forbidden books under the bed, but the otehr thing that got him kicked off was leaving the premises and going on the net, which is a big no-no, and there appeared to be no footage of that. being as they only seem to have footage of the "tim gunn visit" to the finalist a few days before the fashion week show, i am not sure there would be footage.

The final four all get to work the runway, thats always the way its been, its just the 4th place designer doeesnt get the collection shown on the air.

And honestly if you just look at the designs Only Jeffrey has shown any type of creativity. He takes risk with each competition, granted some designs work and some doesnt.

With Uli everything is a print

Laura everything is the same "classic" design

Michael can be creative but he seems to lack confidence in himself, I think he second guesses himself to much which stifles his creativity.

Also with Keith go the the bravo site and listen to Tim Gunn's podcast..

There seemed to be ALOT of hate towards Keith from the other designers.

The podcast really shows keith in a different light than what the show protrayed.

yea, they always show the final four with one as decoy (austin in season 1, kara in season 2) to keep people from knowing who the final 3 are at the time of fashion week. this time there was no decoy - there is final 4 instead of final 3. all 4 are up for the win.

Yannow, it's amazing that a show that doesn't have people on a deserted island, or locked in a house, or competing for an aging rappers love, or dancing/singing better then other people can be so entertaining. kudo's to the people who put this show together

Am I wrong for liking Jeffrey?? lol He cracks me up giggle

AND I liked his dress nod It wasn't "provocative" but I did think it was HIM, his version of romantic. And I loved the pic in he took, the haze of light that came from behind. Granted the skirt could have been a little different but I did like it...

I really thought Michael was going home & I was SCARED!! omfg I'm so glad all 4 get to go, that's awesome. B/c they're all really talented woot!

Laura played it safe AGAIN, I hope she does well @ fashion week...

I guess Uli deserved to win (despite being a BITCH & stealing Michael's model!!! disbelief ) but let's face it - that's the same damn dress she's been making all this time, just cut shorter lol I did like the little seam going down the front w/ the beading but come on, they act like she really branched out & she really didn't in my opinion. And the neck looks like the cuff of a track jacket hmm

The promos for the reunion show look interesting, Keith seems all PISSED evillol Can't wait for that shit drool

How does Laura know/think that jefferys collection has been outsourced? Unless
Bravo are keeping the top 4 hostages, i dont see how Laura has any knowledge of what jeffrey is sewing?

apparently after the "dress your mom" challenge, jeffrey's mom and laura's mom became friends and jeffrey's mom said something to laura's mom...

and apparently also, tim gunn had an inkling, because he commented on it...
