Of course, but sense isn't like an attitude that you can put on like some overcoat. You can practice of course, but if something escapes your attempts at keeping a critical eye, I don't think you can be blamed for that nearly as much as someone who is intentionally deceitful. Abusing a power is always worse than lacking it, IMO. people who have no sense would fall into my definition of stupid. and people who manipulate the stupid deserve what's coming to them...that's just a different level of stupid.

You can label them however you like. The point is: We are all born with certain abilities that we can use as tools in our life. Some are born with a high IQ, others with artistic ability, others still with a talent for handicraft or sports etc etc (or any combination of the above). To say that one who is not born with the ability to understand certain types of reasoning is as much to blame as one who has the ability and abuses it is basically the same thing as to say that a one-legged man who loses a marathon to a two-legged man lost fair and square. We should all try to improve ourselves and make the best of what we have, I agree with that much, but we also have to consider each other's limitations and not use any advantage we might have as a weapon. "With great power comes great responsibility". It's so simple that even Hollywood has understood it.

Is this your plan to get rid of Jews? No, that would be the similarly-named "Tora-clearance Mantrap-in-fez-o". You spring it on them when they've made their purchase and want to condescendingly pat you on the head.

Can't blame them for that. both. i think people have as much of a responsibility to be sincere persuasive speakers as they do to be sensibly critical listeners. I noted 'equally culpable' because we live in a Democracy, one where apathy is discouraged. Haven't we done a good job of fostering intentional deceit because the easily convinced are of some value to us? Myself, I like a mix of "dumb" & "smart" people in my life. I try not to put too much a value critical thinking or persuasive talking. Sometimes I love to argue, but more often than not I don't want to have to be en gaurde. bc "I got the devil in me, girl." - 'John the Baptist', Afghan Whigs

I do my best not to be critical of another.
