It's hard, though, 'cause I don't associate that stuff with fun, so even though I totally like it while I'm doing it (mainly hiking and kayaking), it never really SOUNDS like a good idea. Everybody who spent their K-12 free time playing sports, LISTEN UP: While you were spending 2-4 (or more) hours per day running around outside and working on your fine and gross motor skills, I was sitting in a library learning what fine and gross motor skills ARE. Did it ever occur to you that we dorks had to be doing SOMETHING with all of that time? You know those books we had our noses in? Well, they contain a lot of words. About stuff. Add up all of those hours, filled with all of those words, and it turns out that we actually know a whole hell of a lot about a lot of different things! 
We wish that you would consider us a resource (though most of us have kinda given up on that fantasy). Just as we will consider you a resource if we want to understand a football game (which we probably don't) or survive in the wilderness or whatever. We trust that you know your shit. Trust that we know ours. Thank you, that is all.
