Man I'm so sorry to hear about this news. As someone said earlier, go and get that car and take it directly to the rental car place. Make sure you have someone else with you so you can have a witness, especially if he want's to act like an asshole, you can take his ass to court and it'll help you case that much more. You will come out of this successfully. I have faith in you and that you'll handle your business. hug

If this guy isnt concerned with getting the car back as he promised then he likely doesnt give a damn about the car and any damage he may cause to the vehicle, rental companies are sticky about the how clean you bring it back to and will charge you an insane amount if its not perfect when its brought back. What did he need the car for, work? If it was just for getting around and socializing you shouldnt be in jeopardy financialy etc because he wanted a ride.
You could call the local PD non emergency line and tell them your situation and see what options you have if any when it comes to getting them involved, this way if anything happens to the car you may be able to cover your ass and keep your name out of the black list for credit and for the rental company in case you ever need a car rental yourself.

I say: go to his house, TP and egg it all over.....hide behind a car and watch how he gets upset and all, after he's done cleaning, do it all over again!!!!! childish, but sooooo rewarding!

I only had $300 available on that card. So now I'm really super pissed. Both of our names are on the contract, me being the primary. I was up front with them, that I was renting the vehicle for him.

I needed to share. I hate this kind of drama. All I need is for them to put a warrant out on me. I can't have any kind of record my job and future depends on it.

The thing that bugs me is that he's so nonchalante about it. And he's thanked me all kinds of times, saying that nobody would do that for him.

I've had it!!!!! No more Mr. Nice Guy.

yikes. With those kind of charges going to your credit card, nows not the time to play nice guy. Call your local police dept, and explain the situation, and see if an officer will go over there with you to help you get the keys and the car back.

I had a similar situation with an ex-girlfriend and a cell phone. The strongest of us can still be suckers when it comes to love. Or maybe there's just a part of us that assumes other people will be as kind and responsible as we would be.

THE DRAMA IS OVER!!!

I feel kinda dumb but oh well.

He returned the car yesterday. He's going to pay me as soon as he can. he said that before returning the car he went to clean it up. He had $1000 with him but he lost it so he couldn't credit it to my credit card. I don't believe him.
