it's funny how americans don't get it, don't react to it and keep on whining about the $2 something per gallon!

in the netherlands: 1 litre is over 2 euro's.....last time I checked, 1 euro is about $1.28.....like Senik said, one gallon is a little less than 4 litres.....

Most of us do not have other options than a car. Here in LA the transit system is not adequate enough to get around so we are forced to be in cars.

Hello...

It's funny how the Europeans don't get it wink

We don't have a subway system here in the MOTOR CITY and a pathetic bus system and a limited train system.

neither do we, Rich.....unless you live in a city like London. When I used to work in the city (Amsterdam), I always went by bike or by tram (on shit-days). Now I have a job outside of the city and have to commute there everyday (only) 20 miles, there is no way that I can get there by public transport. Also, public transport in the Netherlands isinadequate as well as it is over-priced!

Hello, stop comparing every damn european city with London.....Amsterdam is built on poles, if these poles wouldn't be there, the city would have submerged by now.....you think we can build an adequate subway system over here??? For the rest, see my last post!

We're the country that was founded on double standards, though. We were slave owners who wanted to be free!

gallon

So that approximately equates to £1.30 for 4 litres of petrol eek We truly are getting shafted for juice over here disbelief

And on Public transport, a one way bus ride in London costs £1.50. to come back home costs another £1.50, thats £3.00 in total for one complete bus journey in one day. Tube tickets cost even more.

Don't you just buy a day's/week's travel on Oyster and "tap in" ?
I know where you're coming from though. You're almost forced in a way to buy that extra bit of fare just to make you feel as if you're saving.

I've got an Oyster that I top up, but when it runs out I have to pay with change. It depends what Zone youre travelling in for the weekly pass and also for the weekly pass you pay for the weekend even if you dont use it.

The Tube/Bus fares have always been extortinate! It's ridiculous!

How much is bus fare oop north?
