Tonight was back to school evening... at my campus. It was alright. I got to visit with 25 of my students parents... however out of all the students parents that visited only 3 of them were the ones that really needed to see me. The rest were "good kids" parents. Funny how important a correlation between parental involvement and high academic achievement are. Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

yep....same thing happens at my middle school....parent night was full of my kids and there was a presentation about gangs....unfortunately all of the potential gang bangers stayed at home....and you ever notice how all activities at schools and announcements are mostly geared toward the good kids? education in this country is back asswards

Why is it funny ? I ( we = my husband an I ) are our childrens primary teachers ... all others are secondary being involved is MY job and I am willing to bet it has tons to do with why our 4 childrens acamedemic achievements are so good ( besides their natural smarts !! )
