lazycrockett said: Well according to zap2it.com:
The only new show thus far to build significantly on its lead-in has been NBC's "Heroes," which drew 14.1 million viewers in its premiere Monday. It also posted a strong 5.9 adults 18-49 rating, a big bump over "Deal or No Deal's" 3.8. so hell maybe studio 60 has a chance. Heroes did AWESOME in the ratings! Christian Zombie Vampires

I'm already DVR'ing the following shows regularly (to spread out throughout the year): Prison Break House ER Six Degrees The Simpsons The Office and later: Lost 24 The Nine Can I really do one more show? We have a baby on the way in January, which makes me wonder if the whole TV thing is going out the window anyway... I forgot The Office... [Edited 9/27/06 12:29pm] NBC is rerunning the show all week on their website. The Encore was Tuesday night. Christian Zombie Vampires

Yeah what up with DH, are they just going to stop the whole Zach killing the old rich guy to get the money? cause that seemed to be the way it appears. I liked the Zach character, the weirdness/crazy was interesting cause you didnt know where they were going with it and at the same time you understood why Zach was a bit off his rocker with the parents he had. I dunno. It's lost it's relevence and I simply can't put my finger on why that is. I really think Season 2 was a huge disappointment for many and that feeling has carried to season 3. WHile better (at least first episode), I still feel as though it's not interesting anymore, and aside from Bree, I feel as though none of the characters have grown or evolved that much. I am tired of the Susan/Mike thing and now I hear he's going to wake up and have amnesia Christian Zombie Vampires

The cheerleader character has a "self-healing" power like Wolverine and at one point, her ribs are hanging out and she just sticks them back in. After watching the pilot on DVD or videotape, did you see the difference when it aired on network TV? Not that much gore, as well the painter's hand that was sawed off and shown laying on the floor at the end of the episode -- was omitted. I didn't see the broadcast version. I'll try and get a copy so I can play "spot the difference".

M We watched the first 15 or so minutes and decided to pass on it I liked it but there was just too much going on. It was as if a three hour movie had been edited down to 45 minutes. I thought it was funny that Matthew Perry's character admitted to taking shit-loads of Vicodin.

Well, I caught the encore on Tuesday, and I have to say that as much as I love sci-fi, I am passing on this. I've already been watching Vanished which has been on for like three weeks now, and I'm more interested in following that mystery than finding out what is going to go on with Heroes.
During the Summer, I watched The 4400 on the USA Network (some similarities...people who developed superpowers), but I even liked that much more. It seems like with Heroes, they're just trying too hard to be cool or something.

Right now it's been picked up for 13 episodes...but if they pick up the whole season, Monday nights are gonna rock! ALthogh won't that compete with 24? It will be opposite 24. So I won't be surpised if NBC moves it if the ratings show any sign of weakness at that point. Thank goodness for my DVR.

Thank goodness for my DVR. well, they (and we) have until january to figure it all out. 24 is an awful big show to go up against when you're a scrappy little first season favorite...either 'heroes' has something big up its sleeve for the second half of the season or else hopefully it'll budge so the 24 audience will tune in before or after. who knows.

My opinion (Laced with maybe a couple spoilers, so be warned)...
* Alter ego chick: I don't like her. This subplot seems more some supernatural turn than an evolutionary development. Now if we find out later that she can willfully replicate herself -- maybe into several or more doppelgangers -- that'd be interesting. * Japanese teleportation dude: Really fun. But I hope they work on the FX to better present his power. * Supposed-to-be-hot-but-too-dirty-to-be-sexy precognitive artist: Boring and melodramatic. I hope they kill him off very soon and find some other way the group can know its mission(s). * The invulnerable cheerleader: I'll have to wait and see. But the rib-push thing made me nauseous. Reminded me of Saturday Night Live's old Adobe car skit. * The guy who suspects he can fly: The BEST twist of the pilot! It seems he can't fly (he's perhaps telepathic, though), but his politician brother secretly can! That was interesting. * Rogue Indian-American professor who's "destined" to lead the crew: Big time corny, and smacks of M. Night Shyamalan, who's on my indefinite "S" List for being too hokey lately. His involvement just seems too contrived. * Cheerleader's dad, who secretly has knowledge and interest in these superpowered humans and perhaps will be a lead bad guy: Could be interest, if they play him well against his daughter. I'll wait and see. **Overall, I'm on the fence, but hopeful: It's got some interesting potential, but also runs the risk of getting unforgiveably cheesy. And I personally wanna see a super-powered brotha in the cast! (I think the clip for this season's episodes may have hinted at one on the bad guys' side.) [Edited 9/30/06 10:44am] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

i'm glad you mentioned that. didn't he say x-men 143? i think i HAD that issue when i was a kid and it was originally published. wasn't it when the x-men were trapped on some island or boat of magneto's or something like that? i remember some business with kitty pryde around that time, but didn't she go to an alternate reality where the x-men were circus performers or something? gawd, it was so long ago, maybe hiro was right on the money. my memory sucks.

Classic stuff. Is this what he was referring to? [Edited 10/2/06 9:28am]

But like Anx said, Hiro incorrectly referenced that story as issue 143 which actually was the Kitty Pryde Christmas issue. And Anx, the Kitty Pryde story you're talking about where she makes up a fairy tale starring the X-Men is #153.

I am officially hooked. The only other TV show I never miss is Smallville. I think Heroes is the new hit show. Xmen/Twilight Zone/Xfiles, all rolled into one
My favorite hands down is the Japanese guy. He's the only one who really gets it so far and he's hella funny. I don't get the porno girl at all. The cute Indian guy has a good story line but his acting stinks. The artist/junkie looked a little cleaner tonight. The policeman is interesting too. How comes he didn't tell his wife? I'm dying to know what the cheerleader's father is up to. He looks like the actor who played Stephen Carrington on Dynasty. Is that the same dude? The cheerleader is hard to watch. I emailed NBC and told them some of the scenes are too gory. I'm switching to Monday Night Football, so I'll miss Studio 60. What's it about?? I'm kinda mad at this show... there's so much build-up that I'm afraid that I'll be let down at the end... I dunno... maybe it's because every episode has ended without any sort of resolution and the viewer is left with "what the fuck did I just watch?!?!?!?!?"..... all I have to say is that if I continue to watch (which I will) and the ending sucks, I'm going to be SOOOOO pissed...
btw: I want to touch Ali Larter.
