I don't like it when I start watching a series that I might get sucked into; I hate being a slave to the boob tube. Make no mistake, there are shows that I watch regularly but most of them are on Court TV and I can watch them anytime without feeling like I'm going to get lost if I miss an episode. Heroes does not seem to be one of those. It was good, and I do like the little cheerleader chick. The babyback rib part was kinda nasty.

I've tried three new series this season, and so far I like them all: Heroes, Smith and 'Til Death (not great, but it has potential). That is too much TV. neutral

I do, but when I get more than like 4 or 5 programs on there, I get all anxious and feel like I'm never gonna get around to them. I'm the same way when there are too many songs on my iPod. lol

ahhhhh, I see

yeah, by midseason we tend to have our DVR like 80% full at all times. Which works for a while and then we make a decision to just delete half of it lol

it's funny though, clearing the DVR is like a chore now smile

Here's the thing - there are programs I watch daily, but I don't count them. biggrin

It's psychological and makes me feel like I'm really not a TV addict. lol I record The Young & The Restless and The Martha Stewart Show. shhh So, if I left them on there, by the weekend, I'd have ten hours of TV to watch. D'oh!

Well according to zap2it.com:

The only new show thus far to build significantly on its lead-in has been NBC's "Heroes," which drew 14.1 million viewers in its premiere Monday. It also posted a strong 5.9 adults 18-49 rating, a big bump over "Deal or No Deal's" 3.8.

so hell maybe studio 60 has a chance.

I watched 'Jericho' last night and was completely unimpressed with the cliched plot - I mean, didn't you just know that the lone policeman was going to walk up to the wrong bus? It felt more like the first part of a three-part mini-series rather than a proper series. I also didn't like the apple-pie politics which the dialogue appeared to espouse. The whole thing played out like an advert to subliminally promote Bush's "War On Terror"...

It's a shame, because the cast is really good; the effects and design were good and the choice of pop-music on the soundtrack was inspired.

Oh my god, the way she was talking to that dog, Mr. Wiggles (or whatever his name was) irked the hell out of me. People who raise show dogs get under my skin as much as people shoving their child into pageants. That's a whole different topic though lol

It was a Mexican Telenovela a couple of years ago. It was called BETTY LA FEA. They have a sequal playing in Mexico right now.

I initially watched it back in early July when the station I work for started getting preview discs of the new NBC fall line-up. Before September I watched Heroes, Kidnapped and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.

Heroes has a certain off-shoot XMen flavor and I look forward to the direction it is headed in. It looks like the creative genius behind this created a movie -- as it looks like movie quality.

Anyone see the unofficial web site for Heroes? It's called 9th Wonders and it's made to look like a comic book. Check it out.

I'm sorta intrigued by it. The commercials say "the show everyone's been talking about," but I hadn't heard about it - literally - until yesterday. shrug Maybe I just don't pay attention.

In addition to the NBC-affilaite TV stations that got to see the advance pilot disc, the pilot episode was shown this summer at the San Diego ComiCon, and from what I am able to gather, it was well received.

I was amazed at how gory a few of the special effects were for a U.S. network show. The cheerleader character has a "self-healing" power like Wolverine and at one point, her ribs are hanging out and she just sticks them back in.

After watching the pilot on DVD or videotape, did you see the difference when it aired on network TV? Not that much gore, as well the painter's hand that was sawed off and shown laying on the floor at the end of the episode -- was omitted.

I believe the director had to shoot that scene again as there was no severed hand on the floor and the girlfriend said her painter boyfriend overdosed.

Nonetheless, I have the pilot episode too, given to me by a coworker at the station. It's a keeper.

Oh, after doing a satellite interview with Ali Larter, Sendhil Ramamurthy and Milo Ventimiglia last week ... Ali said the episodes will air on the Sci-Fi Channel later on this season.

Guess NBC wants to get the word out that Heroes is something special on TV this season.

Man, I forgot about this show. Anyone know if the pilot will re-run before this week's episode? I'm sure I could dl it from iTunes, but good luck getting my wife to sit down and watch something on a computer.

I'm already DVR'ing the following shows regularly (to spread out throughout the year):

Prison Break
House
ER
Six Degrees
The Simpsons
The Office

and later:

Lost
24
The Nine

Can I really do one more show? We have a baby on the way in January, which makes me wonder if the whole TV thing is going out the window anyway...

hammer I forgot The Office...

I think the most interesting character is the woman with the alter-ego she can only view in reflections.

It's like a cross between Lost, The X-Files and X-Men - but better. It's very, very, very good.

Thanks for recommending this. I DID like it A LOT!!!!

i'd give up prison bitch for this show if i were you. i'm gonna try to remember to watch it tonight, or at least tape it. if it comes on before 24, that'll be a fun night of geeky tv.

Right now it's been picked up for 13 episodes...but if they pick up the whole season, Monday nights are gonna rock! ALthogh won't that compete with 24?

Yeah what up with DH, are they just going to stop the whole Zach killing the old rich guy to get the money? cause that seemed to be the way it appears.

I liked the Zach character, the weirdness/crazy was interesting cause you didnt know where they were going with it and at the same time you understood why Zach was a bit off his rocker with the parents he had.
