I believe flickr is free. My husband uses it for his photos and really likes the site.

You can't really build a personal web site at flickr, it's mainly just a place to host and share images.

But it is a good place to post your images if you want some exposure, since alot of people frequent the site. It's a pretty popular service, and it's got a nice interface.

Have you tried some of the free blogging services? Many of them have gallery modules built in.

You get what you pay for. All or at least most of the "Free servers" are crap.

However, you should be aware, that all ISP's come with free web server space, and this is quality server space most of the time.

You need to reseach your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to set up your free sever space.

The only true way to protect your photos is to use a programing language or some other higher level web programing. You can put a bit of javascript in your html files, but that only disables right clicking on the web page. There are very easy ways of getting around that for anyone with a drop of internet savy.

If you look at sites like DynamicDrive.com, you should be able to find the little snippet of code you insert in your page to disable right-clicking. It's very easy to bypass this though. All the user has to do is disable javascript in their browser when they are on your site, and it gets around it. The other way is to save the page to their hard drive, which automatically saves all the pictures on the page as well.

There are programs out there that can create a gallery of your images as a flash animation too (see: http://www.swishzone.com/...duct=pix). This is another way to keep people from using your images, since the average surfer probabbly doesn't know how to extract files from a flash movie.
