Carrie, taking risks is a scary thought but imagine how great you will feel after you've done it. I like you and many others stop ourselves from doing something because it seems 'too risky' or fear that you will do something stupid.
A simple tool I use is to imagine two scales of 1-10. The first represents the potential upside or reward-ie. how good or rewared I will be after taking a course of action on a certain situation on a scale of 1-10. The second represents the potential downside or risk-ie. how much of a negative impact on a scale of 1-10 could taking the action or course of action have on the situation. If the positive scale outways the negative then just go for it! Think of yourself modelling really well, looking really sexy and people loving you. Keep playing those images over and over in your mind but making the colours bigger and the sounds louder. Doing this will give you such a buzz that you just think, 'what the hell, Im gonna do this'! | |

So I saw the designer last night and I told her my fears and what not. We're gonna have a practice run with another girl who just started and see if I can pull it off. I told her to be honest and if I suck then I won't be offended! Last thing I want to do is embarrass her.
The cool thing too is that there is one show at 7 with mostly friends and family, then the big one at 10. So it's like a practice run. Fuck it, I"m gonna try!! She has beautiful clothes and I'll get my makeup done by M.A.C.!!! | |
