why, oh why

would someone who was very nice on several dates, we had a good time, told me he had a crush on me, I confirmed my continuing interest in him, etc. suddenly just stop talking to me?

Why, oh why don't people have the decency to simply say, 'hey, this just isn't working out...'?

I'm a big girl. I can handle someone deciding they just aren't interested. But I HATE being treated rudely. mad

I have done that before. I don't know why this dude did it with you but when i did it it was because the woman did something to turn me off.

If you don't want to be treated rudely then stay away from the dating world. Because Rude behavior is everywhere in it. It can be brutal.

Just move on. There is always someone better out there.

Did you sleep with him?

Ok, I know that's a personal question (and you don't have to answer, of course), but I am just trying to put the puzzle pieces together.

As far as I can tell, that's irrelevant. lol

We'd had 4-5 good dates over a month or so. He sent me a message on Monday to ask about my recent trip (I got home Saturday), I said we should get together soon and he hasn't responded since. It's become obvious to me on his myspace profile (no, I didn't meet him that way!) that he's dating someone else. Which really is fine, it was pretty casual anyway. But to just not respond to me after he initiated conversation?
What an ass. lol.

You were asking why some people do this. Some people are just looking for casual sex and will lie to get it, then they just disapear once they get what they want.

But you explained how it was between you two. My guess is he just didn't want to hurt your feelings and wanted to avoid confrontation.

Similar thing just happened to me.

Some people just have no manners, or "home-training" as Prince/Christopher Tracy might say.
