Are You Good at Giving Advice??

Or are you a better listener, someone who people can tell their problems to, and being able to keep it to yourself? Some people are very good at giving advice, and always seem to know what to say to another person to make them feel better. Others (like myself) are not good at giving advice, but are great to have around when a friend or family member needs a shoulder to cry on. Which one are you?
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I know what you mean. If it's a coworker or someone you don't know well who is telling their troubles to you, I don't think you would give them the same advice that you would to someone you do know well (such as a friend of family member).

giggle Dr. Phil. I'm sure you're nicer than he is, he tends to be a little harsh sometimes.

I'm not a good listener or advice giver. I have enough trouble making my own way. Than trying to show, someone a certain way. I tend to observe alot and learn from my own and others mistakes. nuts err hammer

people seem to think that i do..i mean basically i just think about a situation and try to be as sincere as i can.
the problem with giving advice is that it can come back and bite you in the arse.
i think in this world we have to be very careful in what we say.

I get alot of satisfaction. Tell people
the right advice, they never listen, and then they either dismiss my previous input or take credit on their own. They must feel like a dildo cause they couldve avoided a heap o'crap.

nod i think so....they tell me so, but then it depends what the situation is as well, sometimes I think to myself "fuck! I have no dea what to say about this!" but its all about experience I suppose...and also having the ability to see when a person is actually looking for advice, as opposed to just looking for someone to listen. I know a lot of the time when Im upset, Im such a stubborn little cow that Im not listening to any advice they give me, and I get quite offended that they give me it! lol but thats me...

And Alun - You really are!!! hug You've been nothing but excellent to me this last year....jesus has it been a year?! eek hug
