My partner had a Hysterectomy and she was quite unwell afterwards for a week or so. The only reason she did this was because she had requested it to be done during the C-Section when our son was born, however, "They (the hospital) Forgot" to do the procedure and called her back in a few months later!!

I felt really guilty because of how ill she looked, but, she had made it clear to me that she was going to have it done because she had "set her mind to it" prior to having the Baby.

However, we did discuss the Vasectomy and I would have taken this route if it had not been for the fact the Hospital could do the Hysterectomy during the C-Section.

If that makes me a Pussy, then so be it..... lol

I've had one! wave smile

Watched The Wife have three big babies, last one a C-section, I had no argument to her "I've done my bit", we both wanted her off the pill, she made the appointment, appointment 3 months after last baby born, Doc said procedure isn't 100%, also reversal possible but doesn't have a high success rate.

Op itself took 20/30 minutes, got to shave my own scrotum (biggrin), scrub nurse was a girl I knew from school, she was more embarrased than I was, it was a local anaesthetic, two small incisions on the front-facing side of the scrote, snip-snip-tie-tie, job done.

Left the hospital same day, took paracetamol/ibuprofen for 24 hours, was a little uncomfortable thereafter but no swelling, 4 days later ran down the stairs, decided not to run down the stairs for a while.

Was given two sample tubes to send in after 10 and 12 weeks, I think, I've yet to do it! 10 months on, no issues, apart for a new found appreciation of Barbara Streisand. Kidding.

I found the whole thing easy and fairly painless, but it's not to say everyone does/will.

Feel free to ask questions.

Okay, I have appreciated the advice so far but I have one more question. How in the hell do you reverse this? I mean if I want to get this reversed later in life, for whatever reason (maybe to have a son, who I will name Captain), how can that be done? I mean I know it can be done but I am asking how from a medical standpoint they can make the sperm potent again. Is there an on/off switch down there or something? How in the hell do you undo something like this?

Should I just go to www.snipitoff.com or something and see if they have an FAQ?

there is such a thing as a reversible vasectomy. It's only available on models made in 1964 and above

Is that 4 cylander or 6?

No seriously, when they reverse it does the doctor just do everything backwards? Do they put in the scrotum what they have taken out? Or do they have replacement parts somewhere?

My understanding is they use scrotal tubing and whatnot from cattle. Sheep I think.

Sheep and cow parts? Hmmmm...sounds tempting.

No seriously I think convincing arguments have been made in this thread. I think when all is said and done, it is very unlikely that we will spawn again and that is kind of a sad thought. But my daughters are wonderful and I am enjoying watching them grown up and I feel very lucky and blessed to have them.

Whenever I do set this up I will post some updates and see if maybe I can get a camera in the hospital to send real-time photos.

Actually, there is more to say lol

When my Aunt Cindy was pregnant with her last child, there were complications. During the contractions the babies heart beat would race. The doctors said that they needed to go in because the child was in distress. They gave her some anasthsia for the C-Section but during one of the contractions the babies heartbeat stopped. The umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and the contractions were literally chocking him to death.

So the doctor said they simply could not wait any longer if they were going to save the child and my aunt gave the go-ahead. When they started cutting into her stomach, she felt everything because the anasthesia hadn't taken effect yet!!!! omfg Cutting the skin on the ball sack is nothing compared to that! And I'm a ball owner I know how precious our jewels are lol
