You know, except the bloating and the weight gain and the change in mood and drop in libido. Nothing wrong at all.

Why do men expect women to be responsible for birth control, is what I'd like to know.

In many cases it's good for a woman's menstrual cycle and it also prevents from menstrual pain

I never said women are responsible for birth control
I just think a vasectomy is a (mild) form of mutilation

So's the IUD (intra-uterine device) but I don't see you objecting to that.

Besides, hormonal birth control not only isn't a healthy or safe option for all women, it doesn't even work properly for some!

dewrede honey you said nothing wrong with the birth control pill...
true... except that it is not meant to be used for the entire time a woman is fertile
think about it - it fools the body into thinking that it is pregnant -
those elevated levels of hormones over an extended period of time have been linked to a number of serious health problems

bottom line - if you expect your wife to use the birth control pill until she is no longer fertile you could be placing her life at risk

so your choice biggrin a snip... or the rest of your life wearing a rubber

'cause we might get sick of the wife and dump her for a smokin' hot 25 year old who would like nothing better than to pump me for my kids...lol

Seriously, my wife has been off of the pill for more than 11 years now, and we've had sex every which way possible without any birthcontrol. We use amazingcontrol.

A real man wouldn't ask his woman to do something he's not prepared to do himself. Say, instead of "the snip" a hormonal birth control for men was available. How many men would refuse even that? More than would accept it, I'm willing to bet.

i'm also referring to going down and the putting of things up the bum for seks. if you won't do it guys, don't expect your lady to either. wink

I'de take that bet...you mean to tell me that if I take a daily pill, I could have sex without risk of pregnancy?...that's utopia for us. It would have to be at least as foolproof as the pill. We just can't stand the idea of someone messing with our jewels. And leaving it up to you girls has been known to be risky. biggrin

nod Even years after going off the pill or the patch it can cause damage, partiucularly if the woman in question is over 35, smokes, is overweight, or has a family history of heart disease.

Hey Rocketman, the snip'll do that for you too.

I say I'd bet a lot of men wouldn't take it for the same reason a lot of men are hesitant to undergo a vasectomy. Loss of fertility=loss of masculinity.

I don't equate those two at all...

I think most men won't get it done because we're 1)slow to make appointments when it comes to anything medical and 2) we don't like the idea of our balls getting sliced on...I think you are overestimating how our minds work, no offense men.

Compared to what women have to go through to get their tubes tied, a vasectomy literally is just a little snip.

Women routinely get probed and you don't hear them complaining. A one time process and you're done. Men are such big babies lol Waaaah Waaaah, my balls bawl

Men are such babies. I had a conversation with a guy friend once, where he claimed men experience the worst pain because of the chance of being kicked in the balls. I brought up childbirth and pap smears and mammograms and the fact that the average woman will have aprroximately 494 periods in their lifetime. He still insisted that guys had it worse because someone, somewhere, might be plotting to sack them. lol

Did you just say Wah Wah Balls? lol

You'll get no argument from me about all of the things women go through for birthcontrol purposes...tons.

I was merely arguing that, if a pill were available to us men, I think it would be more commonly used than what Meow85 thinks, for the reasons stated above.

The mdeical excuse doesn't fly. A woman has to go through a full physically before she can go on hormonal birth control, so would a man.
