ummm... sure, if scout ran away to new york city, and hated all the fake people, yes.

falloff x 100.

I'm about in tears.

(and, to be fair, I didn't read the book until after seeing Mel Gibson's "Conspiracy Theory.")

actually, what makes it funny is how EXTREMELY not similar mockignbird and catcher are. mockingbird is a very heartwarming glory of unity, uplifting book. catcher is very depressing, hating of the world and all the phony people in it, downer type of thing.

imaginign plucky little scout crossing over into the world of holden caulfield, hiring broken down prostitutes, running away from a private school, and hating how false life is is a a comedic fish out of water scenario.

actually, given your current annoyance with the world, catcher would either be a very good or very dangerous choice for you to read.

So should I read that or Catcher? Do they have them on DVD? Or is there a place where you can rent books instead of movies?

dont take this the wrong way, but with the mood you are in and the anger you have, i dont think either would be a good choice right now. both will make you even more annoyed and angry.

they never made a movie of catcher. it's too talky to be a movie. almost nothing happens plot-wise.
