My Trip To The Doctor

Right... I'm quitting my job. I finally condensed my Letter Of Resignation to three short curt paragraphs and emailed it today. I then went to my doctor in an attempt to get a sick-note, so I don't have to work my notice.

Well, in typical "Boy Who Cried Wolf" fashion, it appears that I am actually ill. I have had pins and needles in my limbs recently. I've also had constant headaches; my vision has been blurry at times and I've had problems sleeping at night. I know that it's my awful job which is responsible for these ailments.

So I told the doctor all this - and made sure that he was aware I work in a stressful environment. I must have said it about five times slowly, "I w-o-r-k i-n a C-o-m-p-l-a-i-n-t-s D-e-p-a-r-t-m-e-n-t"...

Well, apparently I'd never had a health-screening when I joined his list of patients five years ago. He said that the symptoms could be stress-related but he had to rule out anything that could be within my "biochemical make-up".

He took my blood pressure and it was apparently quite high - 147 over 96. I told my sister this (as she's a Dental Assistant and has to administer laughing gas to patients sometimes) and she said it's quite high too. The numbers didn't really mean anything to me.

I've also got to go to the local hospital's Path Lab and have blood tests now. I just wanted a sick note!!!

In addition to this, he's prescribed me with a Class C drug, to help me sleep. I'm not taking the pills. I have this thing about sleeping pills. If somebody was to ever break into my flat, I'd want to be awake and fight them off before they try to kill me.

Hey, considering where you are living right now, I totally understand that.

My place is quite loud and I could use earplugs but I don´t...because there are some scary freaks around here as well . lol

Please keep posting more about the drama going on in your ´hood...it´s highly entertaining.

And let´s finally do something to get this Health and Fitness forum thingy working....a petition or something.

Take care mate, good night.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Definitely. nod

You know, I thought that quitting my job would make me feel happier, but my mood hasn't lifted at all. I've had a response saying that they're going to process my request as I requested.

I tried to phone about four different people tonight but nobody was around.

I can't think straight.

Yep. I'm viewing it as a temporary measure, although it is a permanent job. I'm due to start on October 2nd.

I've been in my current job for nine years - nearly a quarter of my life. I just feel trapped there and bullied to some degree. I don't ever want to speak with my alleged "Manager" ever again.

I don't want to go back. I'm next due to be paid on September 22nd. After that, my new employers will pay me a full month's wage on October 15th. I may call in sick until September 22nd. In the UK, you don't need to produce a doctor's note for absences of less than seven days.

I'm on holiday this week. My head is all over the place. The emailed response to my resignation has made it all more real.

I know my neighbours' antics can be quite comical at times, but I can't laugh about their behaviour at the moment. The Crack Dealer and her boyfriend caused a lot more upset on Friday night.

Will do, Muffin.

Leaving the job was just the first step. I'm going to leave this shitty flat after Christmas. I'm determined not to spend another 12 months here.
