So I went to dial the phone number for the lottery here in California to check on a ticket and when I went to dial the number, which is 1-800-LOTTERY, I pressed 5 (for "L") 3 times to get to the L and then realized I wasn't texting!

my phone guesses which word you're trying to type, so you only have to press the button once to get a letter. It works really well.

So to spell "the" you'd hit 8 4 3 and "the" would appear, since it's the most common possibility.
