When you don't hear from someone

Do you worry a lot? I just want to be reassured that I'm not being paranoid. It's been a while since I've heard from a (very close) friend of mine and they live in another state so I can't drop by their house or anything (I wish). I've tried to call but I never get an answer and they don't really check their messages anyway, which really figures. I sent a letter to see how they were and it's been a few days; I didn't expect an immediate response but I'm very worried and have been for a couple/few weeks now.

Am I the only one who really worries when they don't hear from a friend (especially a close one) for a while?

it depends on who it is whether i'll worry or not. otherwise, a lot of the time i'm quite used to not hearing from many people, so it's not too big of a deal for me.

Yeah, I used to be like that but as you get older you realise that people drift in and out of your life. It's cool.

yep nod I'm across the other side of the world (literally) from most of my family and friends so I don't hear from them nearly as much as I'd like to. on the flipside to that it makes each and every time you speak to them very special nod

That's true smile My friend in specific has probably gotten very busy lately - we talked frequently for a while when both of us had time because both of us pretty much knew the other's schedule - but things probably changed a little with hers and made her less available. I just overreact sometimes and think of all sorts of things that could be wrong. It's a relief in the end when none of it is true though nod

I have one friend I've been trying to reach for a couple of weeks and he won't return my calls or respond to my e-mails. If there isn't anything wrong, he's in some deep shit. mad

Assume they don't want to be your friend and move on. You tried to contact them, now let them contact you. If you don't hear from them ever, then they were not a friend in the first place.
