Today was my daughter's first day of kindergarten. It was so bittersweet. Don't times like this make you so happy to be a parent?!

Don't worry. Kindergarten is often easier. Mine goes for only 1/2 day, for example, whereas preschool was a full day.

But this is a new school, new faces, new country for my daughter. It did bother me that she looked so lost when I left her. Kids are often more adaptable than adults, though: I just picked her up, and already she's telling me names of friends, potential bullies, whose outfits she liked, that she LOVES snack time and the sand box and that she looks forward to playing soccer at recess.

It did. It was only from 9-11:30 and I'm only sending him one day a week, so he can learn to like sit in at a desk and be quiet when the teachers talking and stuff. He loved it though, and she said he was really good.

Plus he knows half of the kids there from our church already, so it wasn't like a major deal yanno?
