Telephone telepathy ... This happens to me several timea a day almost every day for the past 30 yrs of my life
do you have this expereince too ? Telephone telepathy -- I was just thinking about you NORWICH - Many people have experienced the phenomenon of receiving a telephone call from someone shortly after thinking about them -- now a scientist says he has proof of what he calls telephone telepathy. Rupert Sheldrake, whose research is funded by the respected Trinity College, Cambridge, said on Tuesday he had conducted experiments that proved that such precognition existed for telephone calls and even e-mails. Each person in the trials was asked to give researchers names and phone numbers of four relatives or friends. These were then called at random and told to ring the subject who had to identify the caller before answering the phone. "The hit rate was 45 percent, well above the 25 percent you would have expected," he told the annual meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science. "The odds against this being a chance effect are 1,000 billion to one." He said he found the same result with people being asked to name one of four people sending them an e-mail before it had landed. However, his sample was small on both trials -- just 63 people for the controlled telephone experiment and 50 for the email -- and only four subjects were actually filmed in the phone study and five in the email, prompting some scepticism. Undeterred, Sheldrake -- who believes in the interconnectedness of all minds within a social grouping -- said that he was extending his experiments to see if the phenomenon also worked for mobile phone text messages.

a good example of that just last night, actually...
I was in a theatre watching a show and it was intermission... I turn my phone on to check my messages thinking of a friend and literally one second after I turn my phone on she calls

I get that sometimes yet another thing I'd like to tap into more.
Sometimes I just think, if I think about them enough they'll call!

Interesting.
My partner and I often say the same things or know when one another is about to call. An example this morning was that he had a 3 hour drive to a meeting and left at 5am. I texted him later that morning to ask whether he'd got there and he rung me back to say my text had arrived just as he was parking the car. We're just tuned in to one another on a certain level I think.

Frequently, with girlfriends. Sometimes with hilarious results.
And, twice when I was a kid, I answered my father's phone calls with, "Yes?" as if he'd called my name. Drove him crazy, because he thought I was answering the phone that way all the time -- not just when he called.

caller ID is AWESOME I think it is nothing more than coincidence. It's not like you have several 100 people that can call you at certain times a day, the chance of you thinking about a friend or family member any time of day is big, just as them calling you. It's bound to happen a few times every now and again at the same time.

i am going through " friend best friend X friends " experiences also ... i have found it strange the meaning of the word friend... and also how we are often taught to always BE the friend we want in return and how the return factor can be quite absent even from life long friends

I've heard nothing from her, it feels like I'm missing a limb. Today her mother sent me beautiful pics of Jen's children and I was crying just looking at them, I miss them so much. I'm trying to move on, but how do you walk without a leg ya know?
