a grain (or two) of truth...

criticism often contains a grain of truth.

for example, i've been called pompous and self-righteous about my comments on politics, human rights, animal rights and veganism before, and i have to say that there is definitely a grain (or a pot of - hopefully vegan - grains) of truth to that. nod

what criticism have you received that, after some reflection, may have some grain of truth to it?

rolleyes now, if i expected everybody to be vegan, that would be incredibly pompous, now, wouldn't it... lol

actually, i was quite serious about this thread - for people to come out and criticize somebody, with some exceptions, there's probably some truth to it. and i'm willing to accept that. nod

I know that I judge people before getting to really know them, I know that I dismiss people far too easily.

I guess the worst part about it is, I realize this, say it's a horrible thing to do and yet I really have done nothing to change it.

That's what makes me go hmmm about it.

is there really such a thing as thinking too much?

unless it's about thinking without ever acting... my FIL is like that - it seems like it takes him AGES to make a decision on some fairly easy things... that's frustrating to those affected who are sitting around waiting for him to make up his mind. shrug

more so thinking and worrying about the future
possible future hurdles and problems...

or a couple of unreturned phonecalls
and i start analysing what a potential problem might exist
instead of just letting things happen

it's not a problem for me but i hear "you think too much" more often than i would like lol
