so saturday, we head in to the cutting room to see jackie beat, and not suprisingly, parker is there too, right behind us in line. we get into the space, and the manager this time (being a smaller group than we normally are) put us in the back at the bar.

parker, also with a smaller group than normal, ends up sitting also in the back, but on the other side of the room.

my ribs breath an unbruised sigh of relief.

jackie, mid-way through the show, goes further back into the crowd than she normally does. normally, she will leave the stage and play with the audience, but only the first few tables. for some reason, she comes all the way to the back of the room, something i have never seen her do before, saying "i heard there were people who were afraid to sit close"

and naturally, does a bee line right to me.

"so, were you afraid to sit close?" she says and stuffs the mic up to my mouth.

"no, it's just normally, we sit here" i say and point out our normal table, "and parker sits there" i continued, pointing out parkers normal rib-busting spot, "but these bastards are sitting there, and parker is way the fuck back there" i say, indicating the far back corner.

"awww, do you miss parker?" jackie asks.

"kinda"

parker, ever stoned, stands up and waves at me and blows me a kiss.

so, no rib punching this time, but i am now willing to bet the manager will put both groups in our normal spots next time, which will probably be the christmas show.
